Start IoT Tutorials

On this page you can find several tutorials explaining how to get started with your dev-kit, Managed IoT Cloud, and several different APIs. If you have a Start IoT dev-kit you have to choose the tutorial that matches your device and the communication protocol you want to use. If you do not know which one to choose we recommend starting with the MQTT tutorials utilising the LTE-M network.

FiPy Dev-Kit - CoAP

NB-IoT or LTE-M

This tutorial will send JSON formatted data in a CoAP packet over the LTE-M (Cat M1) or NB-IoT (NB1) network.

FiPy Dev-Kit - MQTT/TLS 1.2

LTE-M

This tutorial will send data with the MQTT protocol using TLS 1.2 encryption directly to Telenor Managed IoT Cloud (MIC) over the LTE-M (Cat M1) network.
FiPy + DHT11

FiPy Dev-Kit - Connecting DHT11 Sensor

In this tutorial we will guide you through how to connect a DHT11 temperature and humidity sensor to your FiPy device.

Arduino Dev-Kit - UDP

NB-IoT or LTE-M

This tutorial will send JSON formatted data in a UDP packet over the LTE-M (Cat M1) or NB-IoT (NB1) network.

Arduino Dev-Kit - MQTT/TLS 1.2

LTE-M

This tutorial will send data with the MQTT protocol using TLS 1.2 encryption directly to Telenor Managed IoT Cloud (MIC) over the LTE-M (Cat M1) or NB-IoT (NB1) network.

Managed IoT Cloud - GraphQL API

This tutorial will show you how to use the GraphQL playground to interact with the Managed IoT Cloud API. We will use the GraphQL API to display a simple list of IoT Things in an HTML page.

Managed IoT Cloud - Recipes

This document contains common GraphQL query recipes for you to use or take example of.

Managed IoT Cloud - Elasticsearch API

This tutorial will show you how to use the powerful Elasticsearch API to interact with the Managed IoT Cloud API. We will use the Elasticsearch API to extract historical data from an IoT device.

Managed IoT Cloud - MQTT API

The Thing subscription MQTT API is used to connect to the MQTT broker that Managed IoT Cloud maintains and enables you to communicate live (both ways) with your IoT devices.
